Not targeted at anyone in particular and I'm saying this as someone who is extremely anti-ChatGPT, but I am begging people to be specific when they talk about AI, when it's not clear what the context is. Saying AI is like saying science, obviously there are some commonalities but the term can literally cover so many things.
#i mean mostly the talk is around genAI#and you can tell that from context clues#but like i've seen well established modelling methods written off as 'ai' in convos#which like technically ...#but only in neural network sense#which is pretty different to genAI#and then there's all these companies calling things 'ai' because its trendy#when its the same stupid predictive algorithm they've been using since the 2010s#anyways the joke about 'whats ai? a bad choice of words in the 50s'#so true#don't give these algorithms more credit than they deserve vis-a-vis 'intelligence'#no nonsense allowed on this post#vee talks
